Jr. High (Grade 7-9)

The Jr. High years often hold increased social and academic pressures. In partnership with parents, we want to help students develop the skills required to find success both personally and academically.

Our teachers are creative, consistent, and encouraging in how they engage with their students. Whether it's through fun lessons, safe spaces for debate and conversation, additional leadership opportunities, or increased extra-curricular activities. It is exciting to see our Jr. High students develop a capacity for creative and critical thinking, and for them to discover more about their identity in Christ and their purpose in this world.

How is Faith Integrated?

Jr. High students are encouraged and supported to explore their faith by studying the story of God throughout the Bible. In chapel, Bible classes, and Bible studies, students learn to look at the ways scripture applies and impacts their daily lives. What do they believe, why do they believe it, and what difference does it make in their world? Grade 7-9 students also have opportunities to build community and minister to others through retreats and serve trips.

Gr. 7-9 Academics

Cultivating Academic Excellence

Heritage Christian Academy meets the diverse learning needs of our students and encourages students to develop study habits and meet the academic expectations that build year on year. Our teachers are passionate about supporting students through this intense time in their education with clear guidelines, flexibility and care. Lessons, projects and discussions are led with a biblical worldview which integrates faith into the core disciplines of Math, English, Social Studies and Science, as well as the numerous options that are available.

Learning Support for students with academic learning needs will begin in the classroom with accommodations and adaptions to programming as needed. Student learning is supported by the classroom teacher through an Individual Program Plan (IPP) and various forms of assessment to support and determine areas of need.
