Student Retreats are a highlight for students at HCA. They help to build school community and help each class to get to know each other better. Every retreat has elements of games and activities, but also has a spiritual focus with worship and gifted speakers to challenge our students. Parents are encouraged to volunteer and help supervise the students on these retreats.
The Grade 9 and High School retreats take place in late September at Camp Evergreen. The retreats have a Spiritual focus and emphasize the theme for the coming year. The Discipleship pastor is present to walk alongside the Students in their faith journey, and this is when the yearly Discipleship groups come together.
The Grade 6 retreat in October offers students the opportunity to celebrate their last year together in Elementary and the midway mark of their time at HCA as well as prepare for the transition into Junior High. They go to Camp Chestermere for a time of fun and spiritual growth.
The Grade 7/8 retreat in September also heads out to Camp Chestermere for a day of fun to celebrate the students, encourage friendships and kick off the spiritual theme for the year.
