Heritage Christian School

Welcome to Heritage Christian Academy

Heritage Christian Academy is a fully accredited K-12 Christian school located in Calgary, Alberta. At Heritage, our mission is to equip students for life through quality Christian education that inspires commitment to Jesus Christ, and excellence in academics, moral character, and service to others.

Our name identifies several key distinctives of Heritage Christian Academy

Heritage Christian

Our Christian heritage defines Heritage Christian Academy. Heritage exists to pass on our rich Judeo-Christian legacy to the next generation.

At Heritage, teachers and support staff are selected based on their commitment to Jesus Christ and for their ability to support and articulate their Christian faith. Heritage parents and students accept and support this faith heritage. The admissions process requires parents, and for High School aged-students, for the students themselves, to demonstrate their commitment to Jesus Christ prior to admission.

At Heritage, the Bible is taught as a core subject and provides the overall perspective for the whole curriculum. Daily devotions and weekly chapels encourage students to know Jesus Christ personally, to develop Christ-like moral character, and to commit themselves to a life of service to others.

Academy

At Heritage, we believe that excellence in academics is a natural outgrowth of a personal Christian faith. Academic excellence requires tutelage in fine arts, service and sports. We believe that the pursuit of excellence in every aspect of school life prepares students for a life of serving God and humankind in the vocation of God's calling.

Heritage is a university preparatory school. A high percentage of our graduates go on to business and professional programs in colleges and universities.

What is exceptional about Heritage is we also have a well-developed program for students with moderate and severe special needs. At Heritage, we believe that excellence is for everyone.

In order to maintain an optimum learning environment, admissions to Heritage is carefully regulated. We intentionally integrate a limited number of special needs students and low academic students into the full academic program. Our students understand the full spectrum of society they will be leading and serving later in life. Students with special needs spend a significant amount of time in ability groupings where they can best be taught basic academic and life skills.

Our selective admissions process means that students with a wide range of abilities succeed at Heritage. But it also means that students may wait for an opening in their prospective class. Early application is recommended.
