We understand that not every school or program is ideally suited to every child, and this is especially true for children with special needs. If you are a parent with a special needs child and are considering HCA as an education option, we will work with you to determine if this is the right place for your child.
In the Special Needs classrooms, specially trained teachers, along with therapists and educational assistants, instruct special needs students for much of the school day. Students are not grouped by traditional grades, but are clustered in broader age groups to create the optimum learning environment for each child. Special needs students are integrated into some regular programs that are appropriate for their interests and abilities. This combination of inclusion and segregation has earned the special needs program at Heritage a reputation for excellence.
