Shopping Rewards Individual FundraisingHCA Music Parents Association is pleased to provide an individual fundraiser for families looking for an easy way to offset the cost of their child's participation in music at Heritage Christian Academy. There have been several gift card programs offered in the past, but the new program is distinct in several ways. The most important aspect of this new program is a long-term commitment from school administrators to this program. As long as we have parents participating we will offer Shopping Rewards. How it WorksFamilies subscribe to a monthly order for gift cards from their favourite grocery (and gas) store(s). A percentage of each month's order is applied to their student's music account to be redeemed for tour expenses or other music fees. At present we offer Superstore (3.5%), Safeway (4%), Sobeys (4%), Coop (5%) cards. Post-dated cheques for the order must be submitted with the order form. Each month, cheques are deposited and gift cards are available for pick up at the school office. A family that normally spends $1000/month on groceries can raise $350 to $500 in just 10 months! Families may enroll extended family and earn even more for their child(ren)'s music account. (Gift cards must be picked up at the school.) Special orders for a wide range of other retailers are taken at Christmas (deadline November 20) or for orders over $1000. Funds may be carried forward for up to three years. After three years, unused funds will be directed to the HCA Music Parnterships program that offers tour bursaries and/or instrument rentals to deserving students. Be aware of the limitations of this program. Shopping Rewards funds cannot be used for other school expenses such as field trips, class camp outs, school fees or other school expenses. Shopping Rewards funds are not transferable between missions and music programs.
